In it’s 3rd year of partnering with Austin Habitat for Humanity, Austin Pride Build is in the midst of their 2009 project. The project started on October 10th and will run until December 12th. Every Saturday volunteers will be building from 8 am to 4 pm, pouring their sweat and soul into making a dream come true for those less fortunate!
I’m calling on our lesbian community in Austin to go out and represent! Come on, I know from experience that when my friends and I go camping we don’t lack for hammers, see who can pitch their tent the fastest, and fight over who’s gets to build the fire. Pardon the stereotype, but you know its pretty true — lesbians were built to build (and take charge)!
So, if you’re feeling that itch in your philanthropy bone, and you have a gift for architecture (as amateur as it may be), take part in this year’s Austin Pride Build. Let’s show the city and the world what big hearts we have and take care of a family in need!
You will need to register first as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and then you can jump on this special project. To sign up and learn more click here.

Is anyone doing this yet?? I’m thinking of doing on the 12th.. I know it’s the last day but I’m booked on all other weekends. I want to do it so bad though!
